An alternating pressure air mattress used in the care of patients who spend long periods in bed. The electric pump inflates alternate cells in turn so that the contact points under the body change continuously, which is the mechanism these mattresses use to reduce sustained pressure on any one area of skin.
The mattress lays on top of an existing bed mattress. The pump runs continuously and has an adjustable pressure dial that should be set according to the patient's weight.
Supplied with: mattress, electric pump, connecting tubes and a repair patch kit.
